What about a cat bored with her toys?
As usual, it’s best to prevent this from happening at all. It is not difficult!
If you are wondering why cats get bored with so many toys, go for yourself. Does it happen that despite over 100 channels, you would not watch any of them?
Cats do a similar thing when they have a bunch of toys, but none are interested. In addition to so many choices that are constantly available, cats become disinterested and bored quickly. When a cat lives only in a home / apartment, maintaining her physical and mental activity is easier in theory than in practice. And the big five shops actually offer a limited number of different toys. And when it comes to overflowing shelves, in most cases they are just different colors and sizes, but the toy principle is very similar and comes down to a smaller number of different ones. Cats start to get bored despite the full box of toys that the caring owner has accumulated over time. So much of the time, over time, the cat becomes just a part of the interior, a background they consider normal, and completely uninteresting. Like humans, cats also love new things, to explore, to smell, to chase a new toy …
Like other animals, cats learn from new experiences, which in nature gives them a chance to survive. Learning is discovering new ways to play with an old toy and learning ways to play with a new toy. The game stimulates the nervous system of the cat and maintains a healthy condition of their body and brain. Cats that have this quality of life will be more durable. On the other hand, those who are surrounded by the same objects will lose interest and be bored. So, it’s not enough to just have a handful of toys!
What you can do is not keep all the toys constantly accessible to the cat, but to “rotate” them. It’s easy to remove one of the toys first while the others are available, then switch places after a month or two. When you take that old one out of the closet, after a while cats will find it much more interesting.
Start reorganizing by throwing away toys that have failed or your cat has essentially never taken an interest. Purchase or make a pair of new toys.
